Overview
Track the flow of every conversation
The CX5500 Unified Conference Station delivers a unique HD voice and video collaboration experience in Skype for Business environments. The CX5500 provides remote participants with 1080p HD active-speaker, video conferencing system that automatically tracks the flow of conversation. It also adds a unique 360-degree panoramic* view of the conference room. Meetings are more productive, and participants are clearly heard with legendary HD Voice technology, now featuring a dynamic audio range of 160Hz to 22,000Hz. The CX5500 can also be used to place voice-only calls as an IP conference system and phone.

Benefits
- More productive meetings
- Easy to deploy and use
- Audio quality matters
Powerful collaboration capabilities of voice, video and content are brought together through a unique 360-degree panoramic view. A HD video view of the active speaker is also sent at 1080p video resolution using advanced technology that automatically tracks the flow of conversation to enable richer, more interactive communication.
An intuitive design with full plug-and-play functionality makes it easy to deploy and use the CX5500. With little or no training, anyone with a laptop that has Skype for Business can walk into the room and simply plug the CX5500 unified conference station into their PC’s USB port and start sharing voice and 360-degree panorama video.
The CX5500 unified conference station features legendary audio bringing the industry’s best voice quality to your meeting. HD Voice™ and a microphone range of 20 feet (6 m) means everyone in the room can be clearly heard, even at the end of the table. Optional microphones extend the range even further, if needed.
If you have four meetings, and you travel 30 minutes to get to each of them, it’s a waste of a lot of time,” CarePoint CTO Lev Goronshteyn says. The organization adopted Office 365 several years ago, and business leaders and clinical teams have been using Skype for Business to collaborate with one another without having to jump in the car. For most sessions, employees use their own workstations, but the organization has also equipped a conference room in each hospital with CX5500 Unified Conference Station for larger meetings. While some meetings could have been replaced with voice calls, Goronshteyn says there’s real value in face-to-face interactions. “There’s a difference between a voice call and a videoconference call,” he says. “It’s more of a human experience. Seeing the person’s emotions and reactions, you have more of a feeling that you’re seeing someone in person. It’s a totally different interaction.”
