Why won't my Silverlight webcast play back with Firefox or Safari but it does play back correctly with Windows Media Player on Internet Explorer?

Why won't my Silverlight webcast play back with Firefox or Safari but it does play back correctly with Windows Media Player on Internet Explorer?

There are two factors to verify in order to make Silverlight function properly as follows: 1) The following Silverlight MIME types need to be added to your web server: .xap     application/x-silverlight-app .xaml    application/xaml+xml .xbap    application/x-ms-xbap 2) Your streaming protocol should be HTTP.  Protocols such as RTSP and MMS will not work with Silverlight.  The exception is if HTTP is listening on your streaming server on port 80.  In that case, MMS will still work, as it will automatically roll over to HTTP without any manual intervention required. Add the correct MIME types to your web server and check which streaming protocol you are using.
