Polycom VSX 7000 unable to access the Security page in Internet Explorer

Following a Microsoft Security Update, the user can no longer access the VSX Security page in Internet Explorer. After attempting to access the Security tab, the browser instance remains on the Security tab and successive attempts to access the VSX in that same browser instance will produce the same error message, essentially creating a loop that prevents accessing any other VSX web pages.
Because the certificate is included in the VSX code and a new certificate cannot be imported, accessing https web pages (i.e., Security) after applying the Microsoft Security update can only be accomplished by modifying the Windows registry to allow certificates that are less than 1024 bits.   Workaround: To gain access to the standard http VSX web pages, close Internet Explorer and then launch it again. This will create a new browser instance and should default to the VSX Home page.   To allow 512 bit keys on a Windows PC, the following would need to be added to the Windows registry. Note: Any change to the Windows registry requires administrative rights and should only be performed by qualified IT personnel.
