Spokes Known Issue: Installer Fails to Install .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows XP
IssueIn rare instances, PlantronicsSetup.exe (the Spokes installer) can fail to install .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows XP, terminating the Spokes installation. When a failure occurs, the “Plantronics Software Setup” dialog box displays the error message “An error occurred while installing system components for Plantronics Software. Setup cannot continue until all system components have been successfully installed.”
CauseThe .NET Framework 3.5 installer is failing; as .NET 3.5 is a prerequisite for Spokes installation, if .NET 3.5 fails to install, Spokes installation cannot complete.
Workaround/ResolutionIf PlantronicsSetup.exe fails to install .NET Framework 3.5, manually install .NET using the installer provided by Microsoft (available at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=21), then rerun PlantronicsSetup.exe to complete Spokes installation.
