Poly VoIP Adapters(ATAs) Product Information
The VoIP adapters allow you to connect one analog phone or fax machine to VoIP services from a Polycom partner. Simply connect your analog devices, power and internet to the adapter to start transitioning your voice communications and experience the power of VoIP services.
OBI Adapter(ATA) and PDMS-SP
Obi Adapter(ATA) only works when it is claimed on PDMS-SP with status “managed”.

What's the difference between the LAN port and Internet port
The OBI Adapter (ATA) has two ethernet ports (on the back). They are labeled as “Internet” and “LAN”.
The “Internet” should be connected to an Ethernet network where the device can reach the Internet/PDMS-SP and other services. The “LAN” port is for local PC/device to have the OBI Adapter (ATA) acts as a “switch”.
By device, the OBI Adapter (ATA)will try to do DHCP request to get its IP address for the “Internet”/WAN side.
And by device, the OBI Adapter (ATA)configured the “LAN” side as 192.168.10.x (mask 255.255.255.0) with DHCP service enabled. The PC can get IP address of 192.168.10.100 if connected to the LAN port.
The PC can access the IP address 192.168.10.1 of the OBI Adapter (ATA) device on this subnet. The PC can access the “Internet” via the OBI Adapter (ATA) (acting as a “switch”) only when configured such by the admin.
LED sequence when power on
- Power LED shows RED for ~5 seconds. All other LEDs are OFF.
- Power LED shows GREEN for ~3 seconds.
- Network LED blinking GREEN for 30-seconds (or however long it takes to get the IP address from DHCP)
- Power LED blinking GREEN for ~8 seconds.
- Power LED shows GREEN
- Phone LED blinking for 3-seconds for trying to do SIP registration (if configured)
- Phone LED shows GREEN if SIP registration is successful; Otherwise, it would be OFF
- USB LED shows GREEN if there is USB-Headset connected to the USB port.
How to login local web page
The PC connected to this “LAN” port (make sure there is no other similar subnet for this PC), can access (with the default username “admin” and password “admin”). Of course,
the admin for the OBI Adapter (ATA) can disable (or change login) for this access via configuration.
The same web-page can be accessed via the Internet IP address if the admin enabled the access on this WAN side and the admin knows the IP address of the device.

What's the Device status meaning on PDMS-SP
Status: Offline (black, red) = the device is currently NOT communicating/connecting to PDMS-SP.
Advice to customer:
- Make sure that the Ethernet cable is inserted into the “Internet” port and not the “LAN” port on OBI Adapter (ATA) device. The ports are: 10/100BaseT Ethernet (and not GigE)
- Firewall and/or Web-Proxy requirements:
Web-proxy: Please configure the web-proxy server and authentication info into OBI Adapter (ATA). The OBI Adapter (ATA) supports Digest or Basic authentication with web-proxy.
Status: Managed = the device is currently connected and managed (configuration/status) by this PDMS-SP account.
ZT Status: Pending = the device has not connected PDMS-SP and going thru the Zero-Touch configuration (one time) process.
Advice to customer: same as Status “offline”
ZT Status: Yes = the device has done ZT with the configuration from this PDMS-SP account.
