Studio P15 Device firmware update / upgrade is interrupted or incomplete rendering the device into a non workable state

Tech Alert:

  • Device firmware update / upgrade is interrupted or incomplete rendering the device into a non workable state

Product Impacted:

  • Poly Studio P15

Issue:

  • Software update / upgrade can take as long as 10 minutes to complete, the device will not function if this process is interrupted and must perform a system restore

Resolution:

  • Customers are advised to perform a full system restore prior to RMA, which differs from a system reset:
    • Reset: Remove USB-C when system powered on, only clear up customer setting/configuration
    • Restore: USB-C can be connected or removed, system is re-imaged

Factory restore the Poly Studio P15 personal video bar to resolve potential issues or if your device is unresponsive.

Warning: A factory restore completely erases the system’s flash memory and restores your device to the factory software version.

Procedure
  1. Unplug the power from your device.
  2. Insert a straightened paper clip through the factory restore pinhole on the bottom of the Poly Studio P15 device to press the restore button.
  3. Hold the restore button with the paperclip and reconnect the power supply to turn the system on.
  4. Continue to hold the restore button for approximately 10 seconds until the device LED turns amber.
  5. After the restore the device will reboot with LED flashing white, reboot is completed when an audio tone is heard and LED will remain solid white.
The device LED pulses amber until the factory restore is complete.
