CS50/CS55/CS70/CS70N: How to Set Up the HL10 Handset Lifter

The HL10 handset lifter fits onto your desk phone, and enables you to answer/end your calls with the press of your headset's call control button. This procedure explains how to set up the HL10 with your CS wireless system.
To set up your HL10 handset lifter with your CS wireless product
  1. Connect your CS product's AC power supply to the back of the base and to a wall outlet.
  2. Disconnect your phone's handset and plug it into the port in the front of the base.
  3. If you want to control the handset lifter with the call control button on your headset, set the IntelliStand switch on the side of the base to Off (-).  If you want the handset to automatically pick up when you take the headset off the charging cradle, set the IntelliStand switch to On (=).
  4. Plug the HL10 into the port on the bottom of the base (see below).
  5. With the phone's handset on the hook, slide the handset lifter arm under the handset until the lifter base touches the side of the phone and the handset earpiece (see below).

  6. While wearing your headset, press the call control button on your headset to activate the lifter.
  7. If you do not hear a dial tone, skip to the section titled "Troubleshooting No Dial Tone." If you do hear a dial tone, the lifter is set correctly and needs no adjustment. Proceed to step 8.
  8. Set the lifter by removing the protective strips from the mounting tape on the underside of the lifter (see below), then gently place the lifter on the desk phone in the pre-determined position. Press firmly to adhere.

To install the additional parts, if necessary:
Extender Arm Use the extender arm when the handset lifter needs additional stability lifting and returning the handset to the cradle.
  1. Slide the extender arm onto the lifter.
  2. Stabilizers can be shifted left and right.  Position stabilizers on outsides of the handset to gently grip the phone.
