SIMULTANEOUSLY RUNNING BOTH MICROSOFT SKYPE FOR BUSINESS AND TEAMS
Why are my Microsoft Skype for Business and Teams softphone calls being randomly placed on hold now that I’ve upgraded to Plantronics Hub 3.14?
Upon release of Plantronics Hub 3.14, Poly discovered that phone calls are randomly put on hold when Skype for Business and Teams are running at the same time on Windows PCs. The reason this issue has come up now, as opposed to previous versions of Plantronics Hub, is because Poly added Microsoft Teams as a separate softphone in the Hub Settings.
This issue has been resolved in Plantronics Hub release 3.14.1.
What is the expected behaviour if I am simultaneously running both Skype for Business and Teams?
With both the Skype for Business and Teams clients running simultaneously – Skype for Business takes priority and directs all headset call control to the Skype for Business client. For example, pressing the headset button on an incoming Teams call will not answer the Teams call, but may initiate the dial tone from the Skype for Business client.
When using Plantronics Manager Pro along with both the Skype for Business and Teams clients running simultaneously – only call data for Skype for Business will be reported. The Teams calls will not be reported.
Microsoft recommends that users quit Skype for Business and then Microsoft Teams call control (and call data) will function normally.
